Nordic Walking Club

A new health-forward initiative launching at Free Peoples of Russia House. Open to all fitness levels and ages, this weekly gathering offers an energizing start to your weekend through the proven benefits of Nordic Walking.

Nordic Walking is a full-body walking technique using specially designed poles, originally developed in Finland and now recognized by medical professionals and sports trainers alike. It activates up to 90% of your muscles, improves cardiovascular health, posture, coordination, and helps reduce stress — all without putting excess strain on joints.

WALK WITH PURPOSE — OPEN EUROPE CHAMPIONSHIP IN FINLAND, FALL 2025

As a member of our Nordic Walking Club, you'll have the opportunity, if chosen, to join the official U.S. Nordic Walking team heading to the INWA European Open Championship in Lahti, Finland (September 2025). No prior competition experience required — just commitment, curiosity, and community spirit. Interested members will receive training and guidance on how to qualify and apply.
